Saving the Dairy Barn

We are working hard to raise funds to save the Dairy Barn on Buhlow Lake that is a part of the Central Louisiana State Hospital.  Weather is taking a toll on this historic structure and the state doesn't have funds, so our committee is dedicated to raising funds and through a cooperative agreement with the state, preserve the exterior.  The north wall is most at risk.  We have been very fortunate to get some great news coverage recently.  If you would like to help, donations may be made to the Save the Dairy Barn Fund.

O. K. Allen Bridge - Demolished

At 8 a.m. on September 26th, the O. K. Allen Bridge was demolished, making way for the new Curtis-Coleman Memorial Bridge connecting Alexandria and Pineville across the Red River in Louisiana.  It was a magnificent sight, which you may view in this video.  The demolition occurs at 1m:12s, and then it is gone.  Right after the demolition, cranes began picking the sections out of the river to clear it for barge traffic.
