On September 15 as we were leaving Taos, we stopped in the village of Arroyo Seco at the Rottenstone Pottery. We enjoyed talking with Scott Rutherford, the owner and potter. In his gallery were some very special pieces by New Mexican artist Pablo Flores, who tries to make at least one cross a day out of "redeemed objects", many which he finds in junk yards at the foot of a cliff.We are so pleased that we purchased this retablo, which I believe shows Pablo's grandfather praying at the foot of the cross. It found a nice home above the desk in our office.
