Arkansas - The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

In mid April, we had the opportunity to visit northern Arkansas for almost a week.  Our purpose was to see the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, a gift to the world from the Walton family in Walmart country.  Crystal Bridges has a wonderful collection of American art, and the structure and grounds of the museum are exceptional.

We highly recommend staying in the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville when you visit Crystal Bridges.  It is worth the visit alone, containing numerous modern art exhibits and green penguins may be found throughout the hotel

We also visited two chapels designed by E. Fay Jones who was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.

A highlight of our visit was spending some time in Fayetteville with two shipmates with whom I served about 45 years ago on the USS Arcturus (AF-52) and the USS Safeguard (ARS-25).  We had good times together, then and now.
